The
2003 World Poker Open was won by Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott from England who totally
dominated the final table and took home $589,990 and a seat in the $25,000 World
Poker Tour Final.

The

How to Enter
There will be two rounds of qualifying, Round 1's and Round 2's and a Round 3 Grand Final.
Round 1 qualifying events start on Monday 5th May, the last Round 1 qualifying
event will be Friday 22nd August, 2003
There will be 2 Round 1 events per day Monday thru Friday, at 12.30pm CDT and
7.30pm CDT (6.30pm and 1.30am UK time).. Round 1 events are free to enter for
anyone registered at BugsysClub, and will have 10,000 starting chips using Tournament
Structure #6.
The top 10 players from each Round 1 event will qualify to play in any ONE
of the coming weekends Round 2 events, making a total of 100 qualifiers a week
for Round 2. Once qualified for Round 2 a player cannot enter a further Round
1 until the following week. Players MUST use their round 2
qualification in the coming weekends Round 2 events and they cannot be carried
over to any future Round 2 events. Any
Round 2 qualifications not used on the correct weekend will be cancelled prior
to the start of the next weeks Round 1's.
Round 2 events are available for any player who is registered at BugsysClub if they want to buy-in, or if they have acheived Round 2 qualification via the above mentioned round 1 events.
Round 2 will consist of four weekend events, Saturday and Sunday at 1.30pm and 7.30 CDT (7.30pm and 1.30am UK time) and will start on Saturday 10th May until Sunday 24th August.
The top 5 players from each Round 2 event will qualify for Round 3 grand final as well as winning their share of the Round 2 prizepool Any player who has qualifed for Round 3 may still enter Round 1's and Round 2's with the same username, however any one creating multiple accounts will be instantly disqualified from the WPO Warm Up promotion.
The 1.30pm and 7.30 CDT (7.30pm and 1.30am UK time) Round 2 events will count towards Al's Smash 'n' Grab League and will cost $6+$1 to enter unless qualified. Round 2 will use the same structure and starting chips as Round 1. All Round 2 events score DOUBLE points towards Al's Smash 'n' Grab League.
All qualified players from Round 1 will have their buy-in to Round 2 added to the Round 2 prize pool with the prize money distributed in the normal way according to the multi table tournament Payout Schedule.
The Final
There will be a maximum of 320 players contesting the final on Saturday 30th August 2003 at 3pm CDT (9pm UK time) but this figure may be a lot less with duplicate qualifiers in Round 2 events. It will not be possible for anyone to buy-in to round 3 grand final, the only way to obtain entry into Round 3, is with a Round 3 qualification obtained in the above mentioned Round 2's. The Round 3 final will not count towards any leagues.
The winner of the final will receive a paid entry into the $10,000 2004 World Poker Open Main Event that carries a $1,000,000 guaranteed first prize. There will also be $5,000 added to the prizepool for the final.
